This strategic expansion ensures a diverse and high-quality range of citrus varieties, tailored to meet specific market demands and preferences.

Global Export Capability

Goede Hoop Citrus (Pty) Ltd is equipped to export fruit worldwide without limitations due to the black spot-free status of our source region and the absence of greening disease affecting our fruit. This ensures our produce meets stringent international standards, making it especially appealing to markets such as the USA.

Prolonged Harvest Period

Our orchards are strategically planted at varying altitudes, enabling a prolonged harvest period. This meticulous management ensures a steady and diverse supply of both early and late cultivars, allowing us to meet market demands consistently throughout the entire season.

Our premium fruit is exported to a wide range of major markets, including the United Kingdom, Europe, the Middle East, the USA, Canada, Indian Ocean Islands, Africa, Eastern Europe, Russia, and the Far East. This extensive reach underscores our commitment to delivering high-quality citrus to diverse global regions.

Easy Peelers

Satsuma

The seedless Satsuma is named after the 1878 US minister to Japan. This cultivar is normally medium-small to medium in size, and the skin and flesh are bright orange. With its low acid levels, it’s a delicious and easy-eating citrus.

Clementine

The Clementine needs no introduction; this deep orange citrus is already a favourite in many homes.

Minneola

The Minneola has a distinct neck and an exceptional reddish-orange colour with a smooth and fine peel. It’s undeniably delicious and unique in flavour.

Clemen’or

This medium fruit with a light orange peel, has a fairly furrowed end and often partially concealed navel – giving it a look unlike any. The segments are tender, juicy and virtually seedless and the flavour is very sweet with just the right amount of zest.

MOR

The Israeli MOR is juicy, tender and very sweet (with Brix levels in the range 12 to 15). The MOR originates from Israel. Virtually seedless, every bite is a delight.

Nadorcott

The Nadorcott is a standout citrus with many unique features: its flattish and somewhat uneven shape is paired with a deep orange and brightly pebbly peel. The flavour is rich and of the highest quality. It’s seedless when isolated from pollinators, but is particularly sensitive to cross-pollination.

Oranges

Navel

The seedless Navel Orange has the distinctive feature of having a small secondary fruit embedded at the apex of the primary fruit. Generally speaking, Navels are the earliest maturing of the Orange varieties. It’s also one of the bigger citrus varietals, with a deep orange peel, and sweet and tasty flavour.

Midknight

Incredibly juicy, delicious in flavour and slightly larger in size – three key qualities of the Midknight.

Valencia

The Valencia is the most widely grown citrus variety. This medium to large, roundish-oblong fruit is covered in a moderately thin and smooth rind. Valencias have a very high juice content and a more-ish flavour, although they can be slightly acidic if not fully matured.

Cara – Cara

Italian for beloved, the Cara-Cara is a red-fleshed naval variety with a tender pulp and rich flavour that is especially zesty later in the season.

Lemons

Lemons,

all year round

EUREKA

The Eureka is the most commonly produced lemon type in the world. This citrus, which came from seeds brought over from Sicily in 1858, now thrives in California. It has a medium to thin rind and is known for its strong acidity and high juice content. You’ll rarely find more than five seeds, if any. It’s harvested from March through August.

CITRUS LIMON

Organic lemons are botanically known as Citrus limon and are a member of the Rue family. The lemon is oval, with a bright yellow exterior skin and a tiny protrusion at the apex where the fruit separated from the branch. There are eight to ten segments in the lemon’s interior flesh, which is extremely juicy and offers a tart flavour. It’s harvested from April through September.
